Integrated Background Check Process

Ensure your staff, volunteers, and coaches are set up for success with Ankored’s integrated background checks. Here’s an easy guide to understanding the process.

Plan Ahead for Background Checks

Background check turnaround times can vary. To avoid delays, add your staff, coaches, and volunteers well before your camp start date.

Background Check Submission Window
Users have 14 days to submit their background check application in Ankored. If assigned, the requirement will appear in their profile. They need to click ‘Run Background Check’ or upload a valid background check within this window.


Payment

Payment can be covered by the user or the organization. If the user pays, they will be directed to a checkout screen to purchase the background check and any other services.

What to Expect During the Application Process

  • Sign Forms
  • Electronically sign Disclosure, Acknowledgment, and Authorization Forms to authorize our screening agency.
  • Acknowledge Rights: Review and acknowledge the Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
  • Additional Forms: If in CA or NY, fill out additional forms.
  • Provide Information: Enter your legal name, Social Security Number, DOB, phone, driver’s license number and state, former aliases, and current address.
  • Review and Submit: Double-check your application and submit it.

Estimated Time

It takes about 5-10 minutes to complete the application. For the best experience, use a desktop or laptop.

If You Get Distracted

If you need to pause, your status will change to ‘Waiting on Applicant’. You can continue your application within 14 days by logging into your Ankored profile and clicking 'Continue Application'

After Submission

Once submitted, your status will change to ‘Waiting on Provider’. Most background checks are processed within 3 business days. Delays can occur due to county-level clerks or other factors. If delayed, contact Support@Ankored with your full name, email address, and application date.

Confirmation

Once completed, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Support@Ankored.com with the subject: "Background check completed."

Expired Link

If your background check link expires, contact Support@Ankored.com.

Downloading Your Background Check

Log in to your Ankored profile, click the View button, and save the file.

Handling Flagged Background Checks

Flagged checks will go through an admin review process. Outcomes include:
  1. Approve Requirement: Clears the background check and updates the status to "Complete."
  2. Reset Requirement: Requires a new background check application.
  3. Disqualify User: Disqualifies the user, locking them out of their Ankored account.

Running a Report on Missing Background Checks

1. Select Report.
2. In the Select Report dropdown, choose Requirements.
3. Click Filter.
4. Select the U.S National Background Check.
5. Choose Incomplete and Waiting on Provider in the Status section.
6. Select the Role.
7. Click Apply Filters.
8. Export the CSV file.
