February 2024
UPDATE: User signup revamp, including confirmation email, welcome email, and fixes for signing up to multiple orgs/groups
Our biggest update of the year (so far) will offer a vastly improved experience for new users and administrators alike. We have completely revamped the signup process to prioritize simplification with the following changes:- Allowing individual users to sign up for multiple groups using custom sign up URLs
- Added a confirmation email for profile creation for increased security
- Added a welcome email for new users which will be fully customizable at the organization level
UPDATE: Do not show unassigned requirements on user profile page
Users will no longer have to scroll through requirements that are not assigned to them. Unassigned requirements will be hidden even if they have already been completed. This will avoid confusion and be easier for our customers and users to understand.
FIX: Prevent intermittent blank screen showing in application
We have fixed a bug experienced by a limited number of users where a blank screen loads during the application upload process.
UPDATE: Completed Requirements with no File: Add A View Button
To increase consistency across requirements, all completed requirements will now be viewable in your Ankored profile rather than having to download the requirement to view it.
UPDATE: Change button name "Delete" to "Remove File"
Once a file has been attached to a requirement, the delete button has been changed to “Remove File.” This more accurately describes the action and offers clarity.
UPDATE: Admins can now view Completed Waivers in the platform
You can now view completed waivers in Ankored rather than having to download them.
UPDATE: Fixed the scrolling of the left sidebar hierarchy
- The left sidebar hierarchy now scrolls independently from the rest of the screen.
- This allows the roster view and hierarchy to each scroll seperatrely

UPDATE: View Requirements In Platform
There's no-longer any need to download requirements in order to open and view them. With this most recent update, every requirement file can now be opened and viewed right in the Ankored platform.
FIX: End User Payment Bug
We have repaired a customer-reported bug that was preventing users from being able to process payment if the requirement had expired. Now users have the ability to process payment, regardless of the status of the requirement.
UPDATE: Monthly billing date moved to the 1st
All monthly billing has been moved to the 1st of each month.
UPDATE: Left Nav now has independent scrolling
The user interface has been updated so the left hand hierarchy navigation now scrolls independently from the rest of the page.
UPDATE: Prevent expired requirements from being uploaded
To ensure only valid requirements can be uploaded by users, any requirement that has already passed its expiration date can not be uploaded.
FIX: Recent search options not loading
We have fixed a reported bug that was preventing recent searches from loading properly when the cursor is hovering over the search bar.

UPDATE: Expiring Requirements Handling
We have added a new “Expiring Soon” requirement state to provide a persistent reminder to users take action on documents that will soon need to be re-submitted. When the Expiration date is changed by an administrator, the Expiring Soon state will automatically take effect as appropriate. Additionally, Expiring Soon Reminder emails will be automatically sent to users.
Once the expiration date has passed, the user’s requirement status will revert back to "incomplete", and they will have to complete the requirement again in order to maintain their compliance.
UPDATE: Additional requirement statuses for more accurate pending requirements
To provide more granular clarity on individual requirements, we have added a few new statuses to the Ankored Admin Dashboard view. The new status are:
- Waiting on Applicant - A user has started the background check process but has not submitted their application.
- Waiting on Provider - The user has submitted their background check application and is being processed by the provider.
- In Progress - The user has started the assigned training and is currently in the process of completing it.
UPDATE: Automated document preservation is live
For accounts on our Silver, Gold, or Enterprise tiers, all requirements and files submitted by users or uploaded by admins will be automatically securely stored for this account.
UPDATE: Increased Admin control for optional requirements
Account Admins can create and assign requirements as "Optional" for their users. This means that the requirement will appear in the user's profile view, however it will not count toward "missing" requirements, and the users status can still be "Complete" as long as all standard requirements have been submitted.
This allows Admins to make additional content available to their users.
UPDATE: Bundled payments
Users are now able to pay for all of their assigned requirements in one check out process. This applies only if the Admin has indicated during account set up that The User is responsible for payment for third party requirements such as background checks and abuse prevention training.
FIX: Admins can edit the instructions and URL associated with the custom file requirement type
Account Admins now have the ability to edit the default instructions when creating a custom requirement for assignment. Admins are also able to customize the associated URL for the custom requirement. This lets Admins provide more specific instructions to their Users for better clarity and a better experience for their users.
FIX: Profile pictures not showing up in group roster view
This issue was causing profile pictures not appear correctly both on mobile and desktop. A fix has been issued so all user profile pictures should appear as normal on all devices.
November, 2023
Free Integrated Content Now Available in the Ankored Requirement Library:
Our customer asked and we listened! The Ankored integrated content library is always growing, and this month we started adding free training content into the library, making it fully available to all customers. The most requested trainings now added are:
- Reporting Child Sexual Abuse Training
- Sexual Abuse Awareness: Policies and Procedures
We will be continuing to add free trainings to the library in the coming weeks.
User Profile Updates:
The following new, more visible buttons have been added to the user profile view for each requirements in the list. It will be easier for users to complete with required actions including:
- Upload button
- Completed button
- Start Training button
- Run Background Check button
Auto-generated URLs for User Sign Up:
Admins and directors can now generate and send their users a unique User Signup URL. Users can click the link and follow the prompts to create their own user profile and start completing requirements right away.
Bug Fix: Prevent future Completed Dates when uploading
Fixed a bug that allowed users to add a future completion date when uploading documents into their profile.
October, 2023
New Data Migration Feature for Administrators:
New customers can now easily migrate all existing user data into Ankored! As new users create their profiles, Ankored will check their email against the provided spreadsheet and automatically pull their records into their new Ankored profile.
Billing Removed from Organization Signup:
We have streamlined the sign up process by removing the step requiring a new customer to set up billing information while setting up the account. A credit card is no longer required.
Requirements Notifications and Reminders:
We have added additional in-platform automated reminders for users who have incomplete or in-progress requirements still outstanding. The following notifications have been added:
- Missing requirements reminders
- Activate account reminders
- Compliance completion confirmation notification
- Alerts for new requirement added

Staff Hierarchy Customization Option Added to Account Setup:
By customer request, we have updated the Group Creation step in the account creation process. We have removed the automatic Staff Group creation, and replaced it with the ability for new customers to create their own custom group.
Manually mark requirements complete:
Admins now have the ability to manually mark their staff’s requirements as complete without having to upload a file.
This feature works like a checklist, you can go through your staff and check them off as complete for requirements.
Allow Users and Customers to Upload Completed Requirements:
To accommodate cases where new users are bringing requirements that have already been completed - We have added the ability to upload a requirement and manually set the initial status as "Completed."
Admins also have the ability to mark a user's requirement as Complete, before the document has been uploaded. So the user can upload their documentation at a later date if necessary.
