Ankored + Sprocket Sports: Compliance now lives where clubs already work

Directors know the drill. A new season starts. Coaches need background checks. Athletes need waivers and age verification. Someone on staff opens a spreadsheet, cross-references a folder of PDFs, and starts tracking people down. Weeks pass. The season starts anyway, with a few requirements still open.

That's over.

Ankored and Sprocket Sports built a live integration that puts adult background checks, abuse prevention training, and compliance status inside the Sprocket workflow clubs already use to run programs, registrations, and rosters. It's in production today. Clubs across the country are already running on it.

One flow. One screen.

Coaches and athletes complete their requirements through a single guided flow. For athletes, age and grade verification, digital forms, and waivers are automated and tracked. Compliance status syncs back to Sprocket, so admins see who's cleared on the same screen they use to assign teams.

No spreadsheets. No chasing coaches. No missed requirements.

"Parents expect to know who's cleared to work with their kids," said Seth Lieberman, CEO of Ankored. "Clubs expect compliance to live where they already work. Sprocket is one of a growing list of operations platforms integrating compliance directly into their product, and that tells you where the category is headed. Safety isn't a vendor relationship anymore. It's infrastructure."

Sprocket has built for safety for years. "Risk mitigation is extremely important for youth sports clubs," said Rich Gallun, CEO of Sprocket Sports. "Sprocket has led the way in many safety-related areas, including our mobile app which automatically enforces SafeSport-compliant communications between coaches and players." The Ankored integration extends that work to background checks, training, and verification.

Clubs are already running on it

Some of the first safety-minded operators include Okemos, NLSA Surf, Downstate North, and Stars Basketball. Each one operates in a different state, runs a different sport, and serves a different mix of competitive and recreational athletes. What they share is a decision: treat compliance as part of how you run the club, not a side task handled by one admin and a stack of PDFs.

That decision is becoming the standard. Screening the adults who work with kids is no longer a burden a club absorbs once a year. It's built into how the club operates.
